Sound bowls produce vibrating and natural lower and upper tones that we can feel or sense in our bodies. Deep relaxation occurs when brain waves respond to harmonic sounds and vibrations. Low sounds calm and affect the body, high tones mentally. Our body contains about 75% water, each atom, molecule, cell and organ vibrates at a different frequency.

Sound bowl relaxation supports our body to maintain its own harmonic vibrational level. The aim of sound bowl relaxation is to activate the resting nervous system (parasympathetic) and calm the sympathetic, i.e. stressful, nervous system. Sounds travel directly to our emotional center (limbic system) and can therefore also evoke and bring emotions to the surface. Sound frequencies cause brain waves to drop from Beta to Alpha and Theta. At its best, relaxation can be equivalent to 3 hours of sleep. Sound bowls nurture body, mind and soul!
