Ilola is a wonderful holiday destination on the shores of Lake Päijänne. The summer restaurant serves delicious lunches and hosts evenings with live music. Sailors and boaters will find comprehensive services, along with the option to rent SUP boards and fatbikes for adventure seekers.

A beautifully restored 100-year-old log house—once a historic tavern—has been transformed into a luxurious hotel. Guests can unwind in the traditional beach sauna or indulge in a unique wellness experience featuring breathtaking Päijänne views and an outdoor Infinity Pool, open year-round.

At Suvi-Pinx you can admire high-quality art at the summer art exhibition and enjoy the summer restaurant’s tasty food from local ingredients. The dining hall, a former village school, offers a terrace with stunning views over Lake Päijänne. A beach sauna can be rented at an affordable hourly rate. The recently renovated sauna has gentle steam and you can cool off on the sauna terrace and in the waves of Päijänne.

You can arrive either by land or water. Boat moorings are available for rent on-site.

Päijätsalo island charms with its views

The rugged island of Päijätsalo is a scenic gem, partially located within Päijänne National Park. You can reach the island by car by driving from Sysmä’s church village toward Suopelto and following the signs to the national park. For those arriving by boat, the island features an excursion harbor where you can anchor and explore. A highlight of Päijätsalo is its observation tower, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of Tehinselkä, the largest open expanse of Lake Päijänne.

New Port Sysmä

Boat moorings are available also at New Port Sysmä, located next to Suvi-Pinx and Ilola Inn, accommodating boats of all sizes. The port offers a full range of services, including a boat ramp, gas station, waste management, and restroom facilities.

Pyydysniemi excursion harbour

There is a campfire site and a toilet in the Pyydysniemi excursion harbour. It is a short walk from the harbor to the Päijätsalo lookout tower, which offers a great view of Lake Päijänne.
