Cruises in Lahti region
Cruises in the Lahti region take you from Lake Vesijärvi to Lake Päijänne, the Vääksy Canal, Heinola, and Päijänne National Park. Summer 2026 routes also include the hop-on hop-off boat service on Lake Vesijärvi and the Suvi Express hydrofoil connections between Lahti, Sysmä, Padasjoki, and Jyväskylä. For groups, the ships also offer private cruises in spring and autumn with fully customised schedules and routes.
Cruises – summer 2026
From Lahti Passenger Harbour, you can cruise to the Vääksy Canal and Heinola aboard the vessels of Päijänne-Risteilyt Hilden. Lunch and dinner cruises to the Vääksy Canal begin on 14 May and operate until 12 September. Cruises on the Lahti–Heinola–Lahti route run from 2 June to 26 August 2026. When travelling to Heinola, you can also board the ship at the Vääksy Canal or Kalkkinen.

New! Hop-on hop-off boat on Lake Vesijärvi
M/s Pyhäjärvi operates during the summer between Lahti Passenger Harbour, the Motorcycle Museum, Enonsaari Island, and Messilä. You can board the boat at any stop and continue your journey at your own pace. The route is ideal for day trips, cyclists, and travelling between the summer destinations of Lake Vesijärvi.

The Jenni-Maria III ship operates twice-daily cruises to Kelvenne Island in Päijänne National Park from Padasjoki and Karisalmi on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 23 June and 31 July 2026.
After the cruise season, Päijänne National Park can still be reached by water taxi from Padasjoki or Lehmonkärki in Asikkala.

In summer 2026, the Suvi Express hydrofoil offers a fast and comfortable way to travel across Lake Päijänne. In July, the vessel operates between Lahti, Vääksy, Padasjoki, Sysmä, and Jyväskylä on Thursdays and Fridays.
On Thursdays, the hydrofoil arrives from Jyväskylä and operates in the southern Päijänne area along the route Sysmä–Padasjoki–Vääksy–Lahti–Vääksy–Sysmä–Padasjoki. On Fridays, the route runs from Padasjoki via Sysmä and Vääksy to Lahti and back north again, after which the vessel continues towards Jyväskylä.
Passengers can travel shorter individual legs or enjoy a longer journey all the way across Lake Päijänne from south to north.
