Asikkala Church was completed in 1880 and it is often called as “The Church of Million Bricks”. The church was designed by architect Georg Wilenius. The bricks of the church were made near Pulkkilanharju and one million of them were needed to complete the building. The building style of the church is mainly Romanesque with Gothic details. There are about 1100 seats. Asikkala Church is one of Finland’s road churches in summer.
