Co-operation with local companies
An essential element of geopark activities is co-operation with local companies. Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark is working on a model that allows companies to apply for a partnership with the geopark and then, for example, use the geopark logo in their promotions. The geopark welcomes all kinds of regional operators from tourism companies to local producers, such as bakeries, breweries, mills, farms and souvenir makers, to apply.

Kinnari farm grows oats, which are used to make unsteamed oatmeal in a separate oat mill using a recipe of their own. The farm also produces a variety of wheat, barley and rye products from its own cereals and those of nearby partners.
