Two Green Design Capitals, guided tour in Lahti and Helsinki

Helsinki is located by one of the world’s most sensitive small seas, the Baltic Sea. Helsinki is the capital of Finland and the world’s most sustainable tourist destination. Lahti was the European Green Capital 2021, located on the shores of the ecologically restored Lake Vesijärvi.
The legacy of the capital years still lives on in Lahti in several ways; 99% of municipal waste is recycled in Lahti, there are companies focused on the circular economy in the area and Lahti has the cleanest tap water in the world.
Depending on the group size and the time of year, we can get around Lahti by city bikes, public transport, or a low-emission car. You will get to know Lahti for about 3 hours.
The tour ends at the main train station, where VR’s green train will take you to Helsinki. The journey takes 50-70 minutes.
We will explore Helsinki on foot for 2 hours. You will hear about the sustainable actions of the city and its residents in different eras. At the same time, you will become familiar with the city’s history, present and future. The walk ends at the main train station, where VR’s green train will take you back to Lahti.
