Camping in Vierumäki, Heinola

The nature of Vierumäki offers a wonderful setting for your own hiking. The area has several dozen kilometers of routes marked on maps and in to the nature. There are seven campfire sites along the routes, three of which have open wood supply all year round. Route maps are available electronically, at customer service points, as well as at the Outdoor center, where you can also get up-to-date guidance on routes and destinations.

Vierumäki is located in the second Salpausselkä, which is part of Finland’s most internationally renowned geological natural heritage. The Salpausselkä Geopark, became a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2022.

The Lemmenharju nature trail is the jewel of the Geopark in Vierumäki area. Lemmenharju offers hikers spectacular climbs on ridges created during melting of the Ice Age, and when you look to the sides, magically beautiful and clear water opens up. The Lemmenharju nature trail goes around Ahvenlampi, which is one of the clearest waters in Vierumäki.
