What distinguishes Lahti from the other Host Cities?

Lahti FIS Nordic World Ski Championships

1. Premium facilities
The conditions provided by the Lahti Sports Centre are difficult to match anywhere in the world. The Lahti Sports and Trade Fair Centre is a modern venue that serves the needs of athletes, spectators, companies and the media. There is no need to build new arenas.
2. Location
The Lahti Sports Centre is located an hour’s drive from Helsinki Airport and within walking distance of the market square; Lahti is a compact and easy-to-reach city. The railway connects Lahti with St. Petersburg in just two and a half hours.

3. Tradition

We have decades of experience in organising sports events, which can be seen everywhere in the city. The locals care about the event and want to be involved. It is easy to find dedicated personnel and the spectators are already familiar with the events. We have strong roots on which to build the Centenary Championships.
