Over the 12 days more than 700 athletes from 60 different countries compete in 21 disciplines with each day culminating at the biggest après-ski of the world and the medal award ceremonies.

Two bus lines operate nearby the event area:

Line 1: Central Station A – Uudenmaankatu – Aleksanterinkatu – Kauppatori B(Market Place) – Paasikivenkatu – Svinhufvudinkatu
Line 2: Central Station B – Hämeenlinnantie – By foot along Satamaradanpolku all the way to Sport Centre

Taxi ranks at the city; Rauhankatu , Hansa square, Travel Centre, Svinhufudinkatu Svinhufvudinkatu, nearby Isku Areena Ice Hall.

Customs

When you travel between European Union countries you can have tobacco and alcohol products allowable amount for your own use, resale is forbidden. Also if you carry at least 10 000 euros worth of cash you have to report them to customs authority. When you arrive at the point of entry, you can declare goods requiring customs clearance by choosing the red channel (= goods to declare). In other cases, you can choose the green channel, or, if you are arriving from another EU country, the blue channel.

OP Päijät-Häme serves your currency exchange needs at the Trio shopping centre in Lahti. We exchange foreign currencies to euro up to the amount of €3,000. We recommend exchanging amounts larger than €3,000 either in the country of origin, the Forex Bank office at the Helsinki Central Railway Station, or at the airport. Customers need to present a passport for the currency exchange.
